The Ring of Fire and Pompeii

This week we have completed our geography unit, researching where the Ring of Fire is located. The children have been learning about how earthquakes and volcanoes occur. They studied what happened in the Roman city of Pompeii when Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD79 and why it is significant now. Henry and his mum made us the model, which has helped everyone to see the different parts of a volcano.

We are enjoying reading The Great Chocoplot, we are looking forward to finding out if the chocopocalypse is real or just a great big hoax! The children wrote their version of chapter 3 which I am looking forward to reading.

Next week, our studies move to RE, we will answer the question: Why do Christians call the day Jesus died 'Good Friday'?
