Up, Up and Away!

Pink Plane Competition Entry soars to Victory for Saxon Air!

This has been one of the busiest weeks I have ever experienced as Headteacher. Wednesday saw a combination of events occurring at the same time, Our Year 6 class went to a local Holiday Camp to learn about traffic and fire safety with Crucial Crew. At six different stations they were taught how to stay safe should they ever be in a fire or traffic accident.

At the same time, six of our pupils from Years 3 to 6 took part in the Norfolk stage of the Cross-Country in Thetford Forest where the top ten runners from across the County took part. I am thrilled to say the children performed brilliantly and no matter where they finished the school is so proud of their achievements. Remember it is out of all the children in their year across Norfolk. One of our Year 3 pupils actually finished in tenth place, which is a massive accomplishment. Well done.

From the picture above, three of our pupils were shortlisted to attend the Saxon Air Pink Plane Competition ceremony in honour of Breast Cancer. Their aim was to design a pink plane for Little Lifts. We were so pleased to learn that one of our Year 6 pupils won the competition after attending the company for some aspirational interaction in aviation. What a fantastic outcome!

On Thursday, our Year 3 children had the pleasure of entertaining their elderly relatives at our Senior Citizens' lunch. Norse cooked a lovely roast dinner with pudding and staff served the visitors. The choir sang between courses and made the event extremely festive and rewarding. Thank you to all for making it the success it was.

Next week, our Years 5 & 6 pupils are off to Lowestoft East Coast College to spend a morning looking at different STEM careers. I hope they get a genuine thrill from attending and generate some interests in future career opportunities. We also have our Junior Leaders and School Councillors attending the Houses of Parliament not to mention Rev. Jo coming in to conduct our Christingle service.

Have a great weekend everyone!
