Brain Betterment!

World Mental Health Day ends the week where we look to  better all our brains!

Well, it looks like the weather has taken a turn for the worst with wind and rain hammering down. Autumn is finally here!

The Health Team visited to check the Heights and Weights in Year 6 and this was completed very swiftly, so they must be a highly efficient group. I am sure if there are any concerns, they will get in touch with parents directly.

On Thursday, Kittle Photography visited to get the individual photos completed for the year. Everyone looked sharp and smart with hair primed for the occasion. I did hear one parent had forgotten to prepare their child fully because they had forgotten about it, but I have no doubt the photograph will be perfect nonetheless.

Today, we have promoted the message that everyone needs to have a strong and positive mental health and that we all need to keep happy, healthy and safe especially when we feel low. This was all in honour of World Mental Health Day. The children know how they can protect their brains and minds by talking to a known adult when they need to and by keeping a positive mindset when things are difficult or challenging or when they suffer a setback. We all looked great with something yellow on (even the Norwich City FC shirts) and the positive messages on brains spread how we need to share them with each other.

Year 4 also went off to the Explorazone in Norwich as part of their Science studies. It was an enjoyable trip where even the staff got to participate in some of the activities. Some of them were worryingly good at evading the security laser tags when trying to avoid setting the alarm off. Great behaviour with lots of sensory input to engage everyone!

Next week, we have the Halloween Disco on Thursday 15th after school with timings shared via the poster. We also have a non-uniform day on Friday in exchange for a Harvest Festival donation. All donations gratefully received and awarded to the Church for a local food bank. Teachers will also be sending out their scheduling link on Class Dojo for parents to arrange a parent-teacher meeting slot. On Friday also, the Years 5 & 6 Boys' football team are heading over to Flegg High for a tournament against some other local schools. Good luck to them.

Have a great weekend everyone!
