Pupil Voice Committees Elected

Junior Leaders and other Pupil Voice Committees selected
Another week has flown by and I was pleased to see all those children interested in becoming a Junior Leader promoting themselves in front of their House Teams pitching why their peers should vote for them. It was great to see how much those children have grown in character since I first joined the school and they were in Year 2. I am looking forward to meeting with them soon and mapping out our plans for the year ahead. All our other committees are also nearing completion. Remember having a responsibility is important for a child to learn leadership and to ensure their voices of them and their peers are being heard.
I have been enjoying visiting classes this week to check on how everyone has settled in. The majority of pupils remain keen and enthusiastic to learn, which is fantastic. What we encourage for all pupils is to possess a growth mindset, to be actively engaged in learning and to remain positive throughout despite challenge or setback. With further training, I have no doubt all pupils can achieve a growth mindset.
We have been fortunate enough to be selected to participate in a National School Song Competition in Hertfordshire on 6.10.25. Mrs. White-Joubert has already selected her choristers and all have been busy rehearsing to ensure we give a fantastic account of ourselves.
Next week on Thursday Year 5 will go off to Hampton Court palace to learn more about Henry VIII and the Tudor life. It will be a long day, but an enjoyable one. From Friday, we have our Travelling Book Fair returning and this will be located in our open area for parents to come and peruse with their children. The more books that are purchased means the more commission our school receives, which can then be reinvested back into the school. This will also coincide with our Macmillan Cake sale where we can do our bit to raise funds for such a worthy cause. We also need your generous donations of cakes, biscuits and cookies to provide us with something to sell on the day. I have no doubt you will all contribute something fantastic. Whatever is provided, please ensure the items are nut-free and sealed.
Have a great weekend everyone!
