Trips Everywhere!
Week of trips to enhance learning!
When we returned on Monday after half-term, the Year 6 children travelled off early to Duxford, Cambridgeshire. Here, they learnt more about the global impact of World War II and got up close and personal with many different military vehicles. Lots of learning took place and behaviour was impeccable. Well done all who went.
Tuesday saw Year 4 travel off to Norwich Castle to learn more about Romans and how significant their Empire was. The workshop enlisted all the pupils in the Roman army and put them through their paces with shield and spear. Again, there was lots to learn and the children engaged well, behaving amazingly at the same time.
On Thursday, our Years 5 and 6 Boys' football team played Martham Primary Academy and sadly succumbed to a defeat. Concentration was not at its best and we were punished for this as Martham's passing allowed them to create two identical goals in quick succession. The boys tried harder in the second half but just could not make the correct decision in front of goal to get themselves back into the match. We must learn from this and go again in the new year. A tough lesson.
Next week, we have several things taking place so please ensure you see the reminders on Class Dojo. On Monday, we have the beginning of Anti-Bullying Week so children need to be wearing odd socks. On Tuesday, we have our Remembrance event where both schools meet with their wreath contributions around the memorial alongside the Church, the Royal British Legion and members of the public. On Thursday, we have a Governor Challenge Day where our Governors visit to focus on a specific area of our School Improvement and Development Plan. Then on Friday, we have a Children in Need event, where children can come into school in non-uniform in exchange for a donation. We will share how you can donate directly to the charity instead of sending children in with loose change.
