An Author in the making!
Village Show Writing Winners recognised!
The weather has certainly taken a turn for the worse, just to let us know that Autumn is well and truly here. With that in mind, please ensure all children have a weather-proof coat to wear in order to keep them dry and warm.
Heather Peck (pictured above) visited to award prizes for those children who entered their stories into the Ormesby Village Show competition. Prizes were for the most amusing, the most imaginative and for an overall winner, which was so good, it could have been easily turned into a novella! Well done all entrants and congratulations to all winners. It is amazing to know we have some fantastic writers in our schools and we hope this continues to grow.
It has been great this week to visit classes to see how well the children are learning and which topics teachers are sharing with them. I am always astounded at how thirsty for learning pupils are. I am looking forward to seeing whether we have had any independent poem-writing this week in honour of National Poetry Day on Thursday
The children looked very smart for their individual photographs this week, so I am sure they will make for lovely Christmas gifts for family and friends. They will certainly make the pupil voice display look amazing. Mr. Millings has been in to both schools to take some fantastic, new images for our websites. If you have not seen them, please make sure you do.
Next week on Monday, we have fifteen of our choristers travelling to Hertfordshire to sing the school song at a national school song competition. This is a fantastic opportunity for the pupils. On Thursday, Year 6 have their height and weight checks as well as a visit from a Member of Parliament. On Friday, it is World Mental Health Day, so we would like everyone to wear something yellow.
Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
