Our first class blog

This half-term we have been very busy! We have been learning about living things in Science; writing about the books The Nowhere Emporium  by Ross Mackenzie and The Journey by Francesca Sanna; we have been learning to play Kwik-Cricket and doing athletics; in Art, we have been studying different ways of sketching and colouring plants. On top of all this, our Year 6s have been working themselves to the bone to do their best in SATs. Our lucky Year 5s have spent some quality time working with Mr Young on solving a murder mystery. 

We are undertaking a new reading challenge this term - everyone is contributing to a reading ribbon (a paper chain that grows every week as we complete our home reads). We think we're in the lead and well on the way to victory with 61 links in our chain. We are reasonably certain that everyone is contributing because they enjoy reading so much and not because we just want to beat everyone else...

Many of us are looking forward to our residential trip to Whitwell Hall next week. We will of course update our blog to tell you about our adventures next week. And in the future,
